Kebbi State Government Declares Monday, July 8, Public Holiday for New Islamic Year
The Kebbi State Government has announced a public holiday on Monday, July 8, 2024, to celebrate the arrival of the 1446 New Islamic Year.
This declaration was made by Hon. Auwal Manu Dogondaji, the Commissioner for Establishment, in a statement issued to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.

Chief Press Secretary to Kebbi State Governor , the public holiday was approved by Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, to enable the Muslim Ummah in the state to celebrate the incoming New Islamic Year.
The 1st of Muharram is expected to fall on Sunday, July 7, 2024.
The Commissioner noted the importance the state government places on this occasion, prompting the decision to move the public holiday from Sunday to Monday, July 8, 2024.
In extending warm and hearty congratulations from the Governor to the entire Muslim Ummah globally, the Commissioner also urged them to remain prayerful for leaders at both the state and federal levels to help address the various challenges facing the nation.
