The Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), Makurdi on Monday set up a Cancer Implementation Committee.
The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital, Dr Stephen Hwande disclosed this to newsmen in Makurdi.
Hwande said that the committee would work to ensure that the dream of the hospital to establish an ultra modern cancer centre come alive, stressing that the hospital don't want to fail.
"The committee will work to ensure that the cancer centre comes to fruition.
"The terms of reference of the committee includes to ensure timely set up of the centre and to ensure coordination.
"The committee will ensure that the right manpower is in place and the training needs of staff tackled.
"It will also choose the right vendors as well as equipment are put in place and to ensure that the building to house the centre meets international standards," Hwande said.
He further said that they should ensure that suppliers give them the supplies at affordable rates.
