Aisha Abubakar, a women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State, has confessed to acting as an informant for bandits, receiving a meager N5,000 from a N9 million ransom and a motorcycle paid for the release of kidnapped individuals.

In a widely circulated interrogation video, Abubakar detailed her involvement in the kidnapping of five family members of the Tsaiyaya Ward APC chairman. She provided information that led to the abduction of Alhaji Sanusi, his two wives, and three children in the Matazu Local Government Area.

Abubakar admitted to participating in another operation involving cattle rustling, for which she received N20,000. She disclosed that she was approached by a woman named Zainab, who is now at large, to provide information for the kidnapping. After the ransom was paid, Abubakar received N5,000, with a promise of an additional N15,000 upon her return from a wedding ceremony in Zaria.

She also named other accomplices within the Tsaiyaya community, including Yahaya, Audu na Bani, and the children of Bashar, who were involved in these criminal activities.
