Keffi, Nasarawa State — Dr. Shehu Chindo-Yamusa, the Emir of Keffi, has called on Nigerians to exercise patience and understanding with their leaders during the 2024 Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.
In his Sallah message on Sunday to his subjects in Keffi Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, the Emir emphasized the importance of patience and sacrifice for the nation's betterment.
Dr. Chindo-Yamusa congratulated the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-El-Kabir, urging them to use the celebration as an opportunity to practice patience with their leaders, even if their expectations have not yet been met.
"We must learn to be patient with our leaders so that they can lead us properly. If we force or put undue pressure on them, they will go astray, and when a leader is astray, the followers suffer," he stated.
He also stressed the need for all Nigerians to respect the rule of law to ensure a happy and peaceful society.
Alhaji Mohammed Baba-Shehu, Chairman of Keffi Local Government Area, echoed similar sentiments, calling for understanding and support for Nigerian leaders in their efforts to deliver democratic dividends.
He reminded the Muslim community that Eid-El-Kabir is about submission to Allah's will through faith and sacrifice.
Praying for Allah's blessings, Baba-Shehu encouraged the faithful to reflect on the lessons of Eid-El-Kabir, emphasizing the importance of patience, wisdom, and prosperity.
Additionally, Alhaji Abdullahi Dantasidi, National President of the National Artisanal and Small Scale Mining Cooperative Society (NASSMCS), urged Muslims to embody the virtues of love, obedience, and sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
He called for harmonious co-existence through forgiveness, support for the less privileged, and a commitment to Allah's will.
Dantasidi advised against any form of unlawful behavior that could disrupt the peace in the area, state, and country at large.
