During a recent tour of the Model Primary Health Centre Rumuigbo, Rivers State Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara praised the facility's operations.
The governor, represented by Deputy Governor Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, emphasized the importance of efficient primary healthcare delivery, urging states to prioritize this aspect of governance. Governor Fubara lauded the cleanliness of the center, the diligence of its staff, and the active involvement of the community. Dr. Kinikanwo Green, Executive Secretary of the Rivers State Primary Healthcare Management Board, extended gratitude to the governor for his commitment to healthcare, citing advancements such as promotions, recruitment drives, and the establishment of the Rivers State Healthcare Insurance Scheme.
Dr. Nengi Anthony, overseeing the Rumuigbo center, highlighted the challenges posed by a high patient influx, advocating for increased staffing.
Commending the governor's visit, Mrs. Abiola Mapaderun expressed appreciation for the center's services while highlighting the need for more personnel to manage the overwhelming demand.
Rivers State's achievements in healthcare under Governor Fubara's leadership, including accolades from UNICEF and the Nigeria Governor’s Forum, reflect a dedication to improving healthcare access and quality in the region.
