Honorable Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad I, the 17th Emir of Lafia Bare Bari and Chairman of the Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, was born in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on June 22, 1956. His academic journey commenced at Dunoma Primary School in Lafia in 1963, followed by his attendance at Government Secondary School, Lafia, from 1970 to 1974. Subsequently, he enrolled at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1975, graduating in 1980. In 1980, he furthered his studies at The Nigerian Law School in Lagos and was called to the Bar in 1981.

Honorable Justice Bage commenced his professional career as a Magistrate II in August 1982 and ascended to the position of Chief Magistrate in 1989. He progressed to become the Deputy Chief Registrar in 1990 and assumed the role of Chief Registrar in 1991.

On November 9, 1992, he was appointed as a High Court Judge and later elevated to the position of Justice of The Court of Appeal on December 10, 2007.

On January 17, 2017, Honorable Justice Bage was appointed a Justice of The Supreme Court of Nigeria.

He was chosen as the Emir of Lafia, Nasarawa State, on March 26, 2019, and officially became a Member of the Council in July 2020.

Throughout his career, he has participated in various courses both in Nigeria and abroad and has served on several ad-hoc appointments.
