Thousands of political allies, well-meaning residents, and All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters poured out to welcome Governor Abdullahi Sule back home after the Appeal Court sitting in Abuja affirmed his mandate as the legitimately elected governor of the state during the March 18, 2023, election.
Governor Abdullahi Sule, who departed Abuja early today en route to Lafia, the capital city of Nasarawa state, was greeted by a mammoth crowd congratulating him on his victory at the appellate court.
Our correspondent, part of the larger convoys, reported scenes of joy in Karu, Keffi, Kokona, Akwanga, and Nassarawa Eggon over the victory. The atmosphere was similar in Lafia city, where long queues endured hours under the scorching sun just to receive Governor Sule at the College of Agriculture Science and Technology Lafia, leading him to the Government House on Shendam Road.
Addressing the crowd, Governor Abdullahi Sule expressed gratitude for the overwhelming display of love, unity, and solidarity. He reassured them of his commitment to continuing ongoing developmental projects and programs while promising to leave no stone unturned in addressing the economic challenges facing the people of the state by establishing industries.
The governor, elated by the warm welcome from the people, emphasized that he would not forget those who supported him during the struggle. "Let me use this opportunity to extend my hand of fellowship to the opposition, provided they genuinely prioritize the state's interests and the people's welfare, to join in the development agenda of my administration," he declared.
He vowed not to stand idle while political troublemakers seek to sow discord or exploit religious and ethnic differences among the populace.
Governor Sule's convoy included his deputy, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Aliyu Ubandoma, the State Chairman of APC, Honorable Aliyu Bello, Lafia Local Government Chairman, Honorable Aminu Mua'zu Maifata, the Commissioner for Local Government, Honorable Mohamed Iyimoga, and others such as former Commissioner of Agriculture, Honorable Nuhu Oshafu, and Commissioner of Trade, Honorable Abubakar Zanwa Imam, among thousands.
