Finally, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)has declared, Hon
Solomon Akwashiki of Social Democratic Party )SDP) , as member elect to represent Lafia Central Constituency in 7th state assembly
Declaring the results in Lafia, the Returning Officer Professor Samaila Usman announced that Hon. Solomon Akwashiki scored 17,861 votes to defeat his opponent and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Mr Babanlungu Ahmed who got 17,113 votes.
APC candidate who lost on his bid to be re-elected for the second consecutive term, Hon. Dahiru Abdullahi Angibi came third with 16, 413 votes while
NNPP candidate polled 15, 209 to come fourth respectively.
It appears that the opposition parties distance selfs from the results announce by the retuning officer on ground that election was decleared in inclusive in Ciroma and Gayam ward respectively.
