Babba Kaita Condemns Killing of Sheikh Masussuka, Blames APC for Rising Insecurity
By Our Correspondent In Katsina

The 2027 governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Katsina State, Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita, has expressed condolences to the family, friends, associates and followers of the late Islamic scholar, Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka, who was reportedly killed by gunmen at his residence in Dutsin-Ma on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
Kaita, in a condolence message, prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased's shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
The ADC governorship candidate, however, condemned the killing, describing it as a further indication of what he characterised as the weakening fight against insecurity by the Katsina State Government and the APC-led administration at the national level.
He lamented that human life had become increasingly vulnerable, accusing the government of failing to adequately fulfil its constitutional responsibility to protect the lives and property of citizens.
Kaita called on Nigerians, particularly voters, to use the 2027 general elections to vote out the APC at all levels and support the ADC, which he said was committed to providing a better Nigeria through good governance and a public-spirited administration.
He urged the relevant authorities to strengthen security measures and ensure the protection of citizens against criminal attacks.
The condolence message was contained in a statement signed by Abubakar Ahmed, Spokesman of the ABK 2027 Governorship Campaign, dated October 28, 2026.
