The Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Coordinators for the 2027 election in Katsina State have held their inaugural meeting, with representatives from all 34 local government areas in the state in attendance.
The meeting, held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the Ahmad Babba Kaita Gubernatorial Campaign Office in Katsina, deliberated on strategies to secure victory for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its candidates in the 2027 elections.
This was contained in a press release signed by Abubakar Ahmed, Spokesman of the Ahmad Babba Kaita Gubernatorial Campaign, and made available to journalists in Katsina.
According to the statement, the meeting was convened by the State Coordinator of the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign in Katsina State, Alhaji Surajo Aminu-Makera, who charged the coordinators to ensure a peaceful and rancour-free campaign.
He also urged them to conduct their activities in compliance with the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies.
Aminu-Makera expressed confidence in the candidacies of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for President and Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita for Governor of Katsina State, describing both as experienced and popular candidates.
He directed the 34 local government coordinators to consult with stakeholders and appoint committed ward coordinators within 10 days, who would subsequently appoint polling unit coordinators.
The State Coordinator stressed that the selection process must be based on trust, commitment and broad consultation with ADC stakeholders in the respective local government areas.
He further announced that coordinators would soon be appointed for the gubernatorial campaign of Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita, as well as for the party's National and State Assembly candidates.
Aminu-Makera called on campaign coordinators, party officials and supporters at all levels to work together towards the success of the party in the 2027 elections.
The meeting ended with the establishment of communication channels among the coordinators, while the State Coordinator assured members that his office would remain open to suggestions and advice concerning the campaigns.
