The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, PhD, has joined his counterparts from across the country at the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), holding in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The conference, tagged APC States Conference of Speakers of Nigeria, commenced on January 28 and is scheduled to run until Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Speakers of State Houses of Assembly from APC-governed states converged in Ilorin to deliberate on a wide range of issues bordering on national interest, democratic governance, effective representation, and the critical role of legislatures in lawmaking and oversight, alongside other emerging matters of concern.

Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, who is the number one lawmaker of Nasarawa State, is among the high-profile participants contributing to discussions aimed at strengthening legislative collaboration and improving governance outcomes at the sub-national level.
The conference is also providing a platform for the Speakers—often regarded as the number three citizens of their respective states—to exchange views on party cohesion, unity, and strategies for sustaining the progress and success of the ruling APC, amid evolving political developments across the country.

Organisers say resolutions from the meeting are expected to further enhance synergy among APC-controlled legislatures and reinforce the party’s commitment to responsive governance and democratic consolidation nationwide.
