Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) has formally matriculated 2,000 part-time students for the 2024/2025 academic session. The ceremony was held on Wednesday at the university campus in Keffi Local Government Area.
Delivering her address at the event, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Liman, congratulated the new intakes on securing admission, noting that their entry into the university was based strictly on merit. She urged them to remain focused on their academic pursuits and to conduct themselves in accordance with the institution's rules and regulations.
"Your admission is not accidental; you earned it through merit. This university operates under a framework of rules and standards which you must abide by," Prof. Liman said.
The Vice Chancellor warned that the institution would not tolerate any form of indiscipline, stressing that any student found contravening university laws would face appropriate sanctions.
She also assured students of management’s commitment to their safety and well-being, while instructing heads of departments and faculties to ensure lectures begin in line with the academic calendar.
She revealed that although thousands applied for admission into the part-time programme, only 2,000 were admitted, reinforcing the university’s commitment to merit and academic excellence.
Speaking to journalists, one of the new students, Mrs. Bridget Ogbodo, expressed joy over her admission, promising to abide by the rules of the university and excel in her studies.
“I’m really happy to be part of this university. Just as the VC advised, I plan to take my studies seriously and obey all school rules,” she said.
