Nasarawa state Governor Abdullahi Sulehas suspended the Chairman and members of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) following revelations of the unauthorized recruitment of over 1,000 teachers.
The suspension comes after widespread public complaints regarding unpaid salaries of the newly recruited teachers. This prompted the Governor to convene an urgent meeting with the TSC members, the Commissioner for Education, and other key officials.
During the meeting at the Government House, TSC officials admitted to conducting the mass recruitment without proper authorization.
In response, Governor Sule directed the establishment of a committee to investigate the matter thoroughly and provide a detailed report for further action.
It is worth noting that the Governor had earlier approved the payment of entitlements for the affected teachers, ensuring they received their dues despite the irregularities surrounding their recruitment.
