President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow following the death of his elder cousin, Dr. Naheemdeen Ade Ekemode, who passed away at the age of 80.
In a heartfelt tribute, the President fondly recalled their childhood memories and paid homage to Dr. Ekemode’s distinguished career as a gynaecologist, which spanned over five decades.
Dr. Ekemode, who received his medical training in Egypt, also served as the former Chairman of the Lagos State Hospitals Management Board. President Tinubu praised his cousin’s enduring compassion, sense of humor, and the numerous lives he positively impacted throughout his medical career.
"Your passing has left an unfillable void in the hearts of our family," President Tinubu wrote.
"I will always cherish your bright smile, infectious laughter, and unwavering kindness."
The President also offered his condolences to the entire family, adding, "The cherished memories and love you gave to us will provide strength and comfort during these difficult times. May Allah grant you eternal rest, and His mercy and peace be with you always."
