NSCDC Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening National Peace and Security

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), has reiterated its preparedness towards the promotion of peace and security in the country.

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC), in Niger state, Adamu Abdullahi Kambara stated this in a press release signed by the Command spoke man  Abubakar Mohammed Rabiu Muti DSC made available to Journalists in Minna Tuesday to commemorate the 2024 International Day For Peace

The Commandant who express the command commitment to promoting peace and security within our nation noted that no meaningful development would be recorded in an atmosphere ridden in with rancor.

The 2024  International Peace Day, with the theme:" Cultivating  a culture of Peace resonates deeply with our Organization' values and mission.


 According to the Commandant, world plagued by conflict, inequality, and discrimination, it is imperative that we strive to build a culture of peace that transcends borders, ethnicities, and ideologies, adding that peace is not  merely the absence of conflict but  a dynamic.
" Participatory process that encourages dialogue, mutual understanding and cooperation". He. Continue:

"As we reflect on the significance of this day, I urge all Nightlights and Nigerians to embrace the values of respect, tolerance, and solidarity. Let us work together to create a society where differences are celebrated and conflicts are resolved through peaceful means."

Key Principles for Cultivating a Culture of    Peace: according to  the state Commandant, respect for life,human rights and fundamental freedoms, promotion of non-violence through education, dialogue, and cooperation commitment to peaceful settlement of  conflicts adherence to freedom, justice democracy,tolerance, solidarity and cooperation,as well as pluralism among others.

Commandant Abdullahi Kambara while extending his heartfelt appreciation to Commandant general of the Corp Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi for his unwavering support and guidance in piloting the leadership of the command, stated that his leadership has been instrumental in promoting peace and security across the country.

Similarly, he commended the Executive Governor of Niger State, farmer governor Umar Mohammed Bago, for his continuous support to the NSCDC in Niger State stressing that his commitment to collaborative efforts with security agencies has been invaluable in tackling security challenges across the state.

 Commandant  Adamu Kambara reminded the general public that  the Corps has a peace and conflict management unit which has so far resolve almost more than 100 cases ranging from Land disputes, farmer herders disputes, communal disputes,buyer seller disputes, borrowers lender disputes, landlords/landlady and tenants disputes and many more.

"To achieve peace, it requires collective effort and commitment. The Commandant call on all stakeholders to join hands in promoting a culture of peace that benefits humanity." he concluded.
