In a landmark collaboration aimed at advancing digital innovation and entrepreneurship in Nigeria, Silas Agara, Director General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), welcomed Haruna Sani Sani, General Director and CEO of the Nasarawa State Information Technology and Digital Economy Agency (NASITDEA), at his residence in Akwanga.
The meeting underscored both leaders' dedication to leveraging technology for economic growth. Key discussions focused on initiatives to enhance cybersecurity and promote National Blockchain technology, particularly in Nasarawa State.
Agara highlighted the critical role of digital literacy in empowering local youth and expressed commitment to establishing a robust partnership with NASITDEA. This partnership aims to develop training programs that equip individuals with essential skills for the evolving digital economy.
As part of this initiative, the NDE plans to create approximately 55,806 jobs next month, designed to improve the educational and technical competencies of participants. This effort aligns with the agencies' goal of fostering a skilled workforce capable of thriving in a technology-driven landscape.
The collaboration is timely, as the global economy increasingly relies on digital innovation. Together, the NDE and NASITDEA aim to implement programs that encourage entrepreneurship and support startups in the tech sector, addressing socio-economic challenges through strategic government cooperation.
