Catholic Bishop Commends Gov. Alia For Symbolizing Independence

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Makurdi and Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN in Benue State, Most Rev. Wilfred Anagbe, has lauded the Government of Benue State under Rev Fr. Hyacinth Alia, stating that he represents independence for the people of Benue. 


Bishop Wilfred Anagbe was represented at the Church event by the Vice Chairman of CAN in Benue State, Rev. Jonathan Ugbede.


During an inter- denominational Church service marking Nigeria's 64th independence, the Bishop expressed gratitude for the development in Benue and urged for prayers for Governor Alia. 


The Governor emphasized his commitment to the State's unity and progress, urging citizens to support the ruling party in the upcoming Local Government elections. 


Governor Alia who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Deborah Aber Esq reaffirmed his determination to change the fortunes of Benue State through socio economic policies for rapid transformation. 


The Governor congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the nation's 64th Independence Anniversary and urged Benue citizens to unite in order to overcome the challenges facing the State. 


The event highlighted the importance of peace, unity, and support for the government in achieving prosperity and stability in Benue State.
