The Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corpse (NSCDC), has expressed shocked over the media report that the Commandant of the corps in Niger State Dr.Elijah Etim Willie has sold out the tower alledged to have been confistigated from scavenger in Lagos.
This was contained in a Press statement signed by the command Public Relation officer (PRO), Mallam Nasir Abdullahi Kits DSC stated that the command has commenced discrete Investigation to unravel the circumstances behind the missing of the tower.
According to the statement,the command was inundated with the media report concerning the missing of the said tower and it will leave no stone unturned in bringing the Culprits and any body involved in the missing of the tower to face full wrath of the law.
"The Niger State Command of The Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corpse( NSCDC), wish to bring to the notice of the general public that it has come to the knowledge of the command on the missing of the tower said to have been confisticated by some men of the command.
"And the media has been inundated with the Unfortunate report of the said missing tower said to have belong to a particular media organization.
"The tower in question was said to have been confisticated by men of the command which was far beyond the true position of the media report.
"For the record, the tower in question was at a particular location in Maikujeri in Rafi Local Goverment when a scanvenger (Dangwongwan) by name Bello Mustapha approached two of our personnel one attached to Niger State Command and the other serving with Kaduna State with forged documenti to give him back cover to evacuate the iterms." the statement explained.
The statement,however, said the command was shocked to hear over the media that the tower was confisticated by the men of the command and the commandant sold it out some where in Lagos which is not true.
The Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corpse (NSCDC) according to the statement, as a responsible organization established by an act saddled with The responbility of protecting critical National assets and Infrastructure will not under any reason engage in such scandalous affairs under whatever reasons.
It further emphasized that the command is currently on top of the Unfortunate and painful issues as is presently on the trail of the Culprits and the officers involved with the aim of bringing them to face the long arm of Justice.
Already, a total manhut has been launched by the command on the fleeing culprits and the said Bello Mustapha to bring them to book for thorough investigation to know the involvement of the men of the Command.
"It is also important to note that the National headquarters of the corps under the dynamic leadership of the Commandant General of NSDC Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni, OFR. is ontop of the matter and has directed for discrete Investigation on the matter to bring those involved in the scandoulos matter to book.
"The Niger state Command of the Corps wish to appeal to members of the public and the media to continue to keep their faith and hope on the command under the leadership of the state Commandant Comdt Elijah Etim Willie PhD. as he will not for any reasons allow the matter to be swept under the carpet without bringing those involved to book.
The command is doing everything within the ambit of the act establishing the NSCDC in making sure that the law will take its full course on the matter.."
