KMT MOVEMENT DENIES YOBE GUBERNATORIAL DEAL, AWAITS COURT VERDICT

Says It Remains in APC, Reaffirms Support for Presidential Election
By Our Correspondent In Damaturu

The KMT Movement has denied reports suggesting that it has reached an agreement with any individual or group in Yobe State concerning the forthcoming governorship election, insisting that it is awaiting the outcome of the ongoing court process before taking a definite position.

The movement made this clarification in a press statement issued by its spokesperson, Abubakar Ahmed, in response to what it described as false narratives and misconceptions surrounding the recently published Yobe APC list.

According to the statement, neither KMT nor the KMT Movement has entered into any arrangement or agreement with anyone in Yobe State regarding the governorship campaign.

The movement, however, reaffirmed its commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that it would continue to work for the party's success, particularly in the presidential election.

On the governorship contest, the statement explained that the movement would not take a definitive position until the court process had been concluded.

It consequently urged its structures and supporters across Yobe State and beyond to remain calm and await further information and directives from the KMT Movement Secretariat.

The statement also advised members of the public to disregard comments, statements and narratives concerning the movement's position unless they emanate from the KMT Movement Secretariat.

The clarification was issued amid growing public attention to the political alignments and developments surrounding the APC in Yobe State.
