Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, has intensified efforts to strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, donating ₦6 million and distributing 1,100 wrappers to constituents in Kokona Local Government Area.
Jatau made the donation during a marathon APC stakeholders’ meeting he convened in Garaku, Kokona LGA, to promote party unity, reconcile aggrieved members and mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, the APC governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, and other party candidates.
The meeting attracted elected and appointed political office holders at the national, state and local government levels, alongside party executives, ward chairmen and other stakeholders from the area’s 11 wards.
Addressing participants, the Speaker, who represents Kokona West Constituency, said the meeting was organised to unite party members, strengthen internal cohesion and deliberate on strategies for securing the APC’s victory in the 2027 elections.
He urged party stakeholders to remain committed to the APC and warned against anti-party activities, stressing that collective effort was necessary to achieve the party’s electoral objectives.
“Let us come together and work as a family. APC is our party, and by God’s grace, we will win in 2027,” Jatau said.
He described Kokona as a stronghold of the APC and called on party members to intensify mobilisation at the ward and polling-unit levels.
The Speaker, however, expressed concern over reports of alleged betrayal among some party members following the primaries, urging them to put personal interests aside and work for the success of all APC candidates.
Jatau specifically called on his supporters to support Hon. Daniel Oga Ogazi, the APC candidate for the House of Representatives seat representing Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency, despite the outcome of the party primaries.
He urged constituents to vote for President Tinubu, Senator Wadada and all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
As part of his support for party mobilisation, Jatau announced the donation of ₦6 million to his constituents and 1,100 wrappers for distribution across the 11 wards of Kokona LGA, with each ward expected to receive 100 wrappers.
The Speaker also appealed to party members to embrace forgiveness and reconciliation, describing unity, peace and mutual understanding as essential ingredients for the party’s progress and electoral success.
“Let us have the spirit of forgiveness for the unity, peace, progress and development of our party,” he added.
Jatau commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for approving the construction of Bassa Road, noting that the project would enhance agricultural activities, improve transportation and stimulate socio-economic development in the area.
He also praised the governor for his administration’s development efforts across Nasarawa State.
The Speaker further urged residents to reject ethnic and religious divisions and sustain peaceful coexistence, irrespective of their political, ethnic or religious affiliations.

Speaking at the meeting, the Commissioner for Education, Hon. John Mamman; Chairman of Kokona Local Government Area, Hon. Mek Agbawu Mek; APC Chairman in Kokona, Mr. Jacob Terry Bado; and other party leaders pledged their commitment to mobilising support for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
Other speakers included Mr. Sulaiman Sarki, ward chairmen in the area, Hon. AbdulKarim Gona, Speaker of the Kokona Legislative Council; Mr. Joel Olugbo, a party stakeholder; and Hon. Jamila Sarki, a former commissioner in the state.
