2027: Nasarawa’s Only Female Lawmaker, Dr. Danyaro, Secures Constituents’ Endorsement for Second Term
Engages Religious Leaders, Unveils Legislative Scorecard; Receives Vote of Confidence Across Faith Groups
The member representing Nasarawa Central Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim, has received a resounding endorsement from her constituents to seek re-election in 2027, following widespread commendation of her performance and inclusive representation.
Dr. Danyaro, who is the only female lawmaker in the Nasarawa State Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs, secured the backing during a series of interactive sessions with religious stakeholders across Nasarawa Local Government Area.
The engagements, which brought together prominent Islamic organizations including JIBWIS and JNI, provided a platform for the lawmaker to present her legislative scorecard and stewardship over the past two and a half years.
Participants at the sessions lauded her impactful representation, transparency, and commitment to grassroots development, noting that her tenure has set a benchmark in inclusive governance.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Danyaro detailed her achievements and assured constituents of more people-oriented projects and programmes if given another mandate in 2027. She expressed gratitude for the continued trust and support, pledging to sustain her efforts in improving the welfare of her people.
The lawmaker also called for sustained peace, unity, and cooperation among constituents, irrespective of religious or political affiliations, while urging continued support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule.
In their separate remarks, Islamic leaders including Ustaz Umar Usman Baba (JIBWIS), Malam Yahaya Ahmed Danbaba, Chief Imam of Nasarawa Central Mosque, and Malam Zakariyya Abubakar, commended Dr. Danyaro’s quality leadership and inclusive approach.
They noted that she remains the first legislator in the constituency’s history to fully integrate religious bodies into governance processes, assuring her of their unwavering support ahead of the 2027 elections.
Similarly, the Christian community, under the aegis of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Nasarawa Local Government Chapter, also passed a vote of confidence on the lawmaker.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Pastor Ishola of Baptist Church Achievers praised her performance and reaffirmed their readiness to support her re-election bid.
The endorsement from both Islamic and Christian leaders underscores growing grassroots confidence in Dr. Danyaro’s leadership as she positions for a second term in office.
