The alarm was raised by his Campaign Coordinator Comrade Abubakar Sadeeq Suleja, while speaking with Newsmen at the High Court Complex, the venue of the election petition tribunal in Minna.
According to Comrade Abubakar Sadeeq Suleja, Isyaku Bawa Naibi the All Progressive Congress (APC) Chairman has severally used the police against him to withdraw his petition from the Tribunal alleging that some plain clothes operatives from the Niger State Police Command have been trailing him in the last two weeks
He explained that the petition against Shehu Abdukadir, is frivolous and lack basis but the police authority in Niger State still allowed themselves to be used to intimidate him which he described as unfortunate
“ For Police authorities that are supposed to safeguard, protect the lives and property of the citizens now descend to the political tools in the hands of politicians is quite unfortunate.
“ We are already in the Tribunal challenging the malpractice and other irregularities that were recorded in the conduct of the 1st November local government election in Suleja.
“ If the All Progressive Congress (APC) Candidate Isyaku Bawa Naibi has any case against our candidate he should forward his case to the Tribunal. Why use the police to harass and intimidate Shehu Abdukadir? “ Comrade Abubakar Sadeeq Suleja told journalists in Minna.
He warned that no amount of threat, intimidation and harassment that will detered them from seeking for Justice from the Tribunal stating that “ we are already in the Tribunal which is the appropriate step we feel is the right thing to do
“ I expected them to do than to file a frivolous petition to the police for a reason best know to them “ he added.
Comrade Abubakar Sadeeq then appealed to their supporters to continue to maintain peace and order in the area assuring that Justice will prevail at the Tribunal.
