Member representing Awe North Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Hudu A. Hudu, has launched a comprehensive N50 million empowerment programme targeted at improving the lives of his constituents as part of activities marking his two years in office.
The lawmaker announced the initiative on Saturday at the Emir’s Palace in Awe during the formal launch of a series of programmes designed to fulfil his campaign promises and enhance democratic dividends across Awe North.
Hon. Hudu A. Hudu, who also serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, appreciated his constituents for the mandate given to him and assured them that he would never betray their trust.
- Training and empowerment for 600 women in various skills
- Scholarships for over 300 students
- Commissioning of 10 motorized boreholes across Awe North communities
- Donation of 10 sound systems to political groups
- Flag-off of free medical outreach and distribution of drugs to more than 300 patients
- Installation of solar street lights in over 60 villages
- Additional community support initiatives
Representing Governor Abdullahi Sule, the State Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, through Hon. Muhammed Ibrahim Alkali, praised the lawmaker’s performance and described him as a valuable asset to the ruling APC.
Similarly, dignitaries such as the Member representing Doma/Keana/Awe Federal Constituency, Hon. Abubakar Nalaraba, former House of Representatives member Dr. Hashimu, and several members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, commended Hon. Hudu A. Hudu for his exceptional legislative performance and transformative leadership, urging him to maintain the pace.
The Emir’s Palace in Awe was filled to capacity with supporters, political leaders, admirers, and community stakeholders who thronged the venue to honour Hon. Hudu A. Hudu.
