The Nasarawa State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi, has assured of continued collaboration and synergy between his ministry and the Nasarawa State Bureau of Statistics to strengthen data-driven governance in the state.
Danladi gave the assurance when he received the Statistician General of Nasarawa State, Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim, and his team during a courtesy visit to the Justice House in Lafia.
Congratulating Dr. Ahmed on his appointment and the establishment of the Bureau, the Attorney General urged him to see the role as a challenge to put in his best in service to the state.
“It is not about having a position or an office, but how workable and impactful the institution becomes.
You have started well, and I assure you that this ministry will continue to collaborate and synergize with your office for effective service delivery,” Danladi stated.
He described the Bureau as a critical institution in decision-making and policy formulation, noting that statistical data remains essential for governance, dispute resolution, and sustainable development.
On his part, the Statistician General, Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim, appreciated the Ministry of Justice for its support in the legal processes that ensured the establishment of the Bureau.
He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule, the State Assembly, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders for their roles in making the Bureau a reality.
“The mission of the Bureau is to provide reliable, timely, and accurate data for effective decision-making, policy formulation, and sustainable development in Nasarawa State. With this, we can foster transparency, accountability, and informed governance,” Dr. Ahmed said.
He further explained that the Bureau, in line with the Statistics Act 2007 and the Nasarawa State law establishing it, would serve as the coordinating body for all statistical systems in the state, bringing together producers, users, and suppliers of data to drive inclusive development.
Both institutions pledged to maintain a robust working relationship to ensure efficient service delivery for the people of Nasarawa State.
