Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State in North Central Nigeria has announced the awarding of contracts for the construction of over 390 kilometers of roads in various communities across the state.
The initiative the Governor said is aimed to improve access to quality roads for residents, both in rural and urban areas.
The Governor, speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, after inspection tour of ongoing projects in Makurdi, the state Capital highlighted ongoing projects across the state, including 25 completed township roads in Makurdi.
Governor Alia denied allegations of favoritism in the spread of development projects, noting that his administration is committed to delivering projects that benefit all residents.
Governor Alia also outlined plans for future projects, emphasizing the importance of providing water, healthcare and quality education to every community in the state.
Some of the ongoing projects inspected included Food Basket Brewery Ltd, producers of ZEVA Premium Lager Beer, Ishaya Bakut Road dual carriage way, the popular High Level underpass road project, and the newly awarded projects for Benfruit company concentrate and Benval Juice Factory, which are currently at various stages of completion.
