Former President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his condolences to the Emir of Machina, Alhaji Dr. Bashir Albishir Bukar Machina, and former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babandede, on the passing of their mothers.

Buhari, in a telephone call to the Emir of Machina, described the late Hajiya Hauwa Mai Bukar Machinawa as an exemplary figure who lived a life marked by commitment to service, unwavering faith in God, and adherence to strong values, even in challenging times.
In a separate call to Babandede, Buhari eulogized the late Hajiya Hajara Babandede for her simplicity, compassion, and pivotal role in shaping her son's character and successful career as Nigeria’s foremost immigration official.
The former president prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and asked Allah to grant the Emir and Babandede the strength to bear their loss.
