Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticized the military parade organized for Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing it as an affront to military traditions.

In a statement signed by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, Atiku called for a thorough investigation into the incident.

He expressed disappointment that any branch of the Nigerian Armed Forces would conduct such a parade for someone without an official military rank.

The statement highlighted Atiku's concern over a viral video on social media, which showed young men, seemingly organized in a military formation and bearing arms, paying ceremonial homage to the president's son.

Atiku described the incident as troubling, particularly as the group behind the parade, identified as the "Nigeria Cadet Network," is not officially recognized by the Nigerian Armed Forces.
