Nigeria's First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has empowered 1000 Benue women petty traders by providing them with N50,000 each through her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Economic Programme.
The ceremony took place in Makurdi, where Mrs. Tinubu expressed her awareness of the challenges faced by SMEs, especially petty traders who are essential to the local economy.
The grants aim to help the women overcome business obstacles, expand their businesses, create jobs, and contribute more to the economy.
The total cost of the programme is over N1.8bn.
Governor Hyacinth Alia thanked the women for their support, while Mrs. Scholastica Ben-Sor praised the First Lady for consistently supporting the women of Benue through various empowerment initiatives.
