The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State has announced the expulsion of several top officials over alleged anti-party activities, internal sabotage, and collusion with rival political interests.
The announcement came during a press conference held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Golden Orange Gate Hotel, Narayi High Cost, Kaduna.
According to a statement issued at the briefing, the decision followed a series of developments that the party described as a deliberate plot by some members to infiltrate and weaken the ADC and derail the unity of opposition forces in the state.
Party Moves Against Internal Saboteurs
The state working committee, led by Elder Patrick Didam Ambut, confirmed the expulsion of the following officials:
- Alh. Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha – Deputy Chairman
- Engr. Idris Musa – State Publicity Secretary
- Suleiman Abdullahi – State Vice Chairman (Zone 1)
- Gambo Sani – State Treasurer
- Magaji Maiwada – State Financial Secretary
- Danlami Dabai – State Legal Adviser
- Sakura Muhammed – State Coordinator of Persons With Disabilities (PWD)
- Ibrahim Muhammed and Mansur Gaga – State Deputy Youth Leaders
The expelled members were accused of engaging in activities contrary to the party’s constitution, including supporting a court case instituted against key opposition figures—notably Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Mallam Jaafaru Sani, and Hon. Bashir Saidu, the ADC’s National Vice Chairman (North-West).
Coalition Blacklists Alleged Collaborators
The coalition also announced the blacklisting of Hon. Adamu Ahmed Dattijo, Alh. Suleiman Abdullahi, and Sen. Musa Bello, accusing them of initiating the court case without exhausting internal dispute mechanisms.
In a strongly worded statement, the coalition alleged that the actions of the blacklisted members were “driven by ulterior motives and underhand dealings with the ruling APC”, aimed at frustrating the ADC’s reorganization efforts in Kaduna State.
The coalition leaders therefore urged the ADC National Headquarters and the general public to cease all official or political engagements with the blacklisted individuals concerning party affairs in the state.
Sen. Nenadi Usman, Bashir Saidu Named Coalition Leaders
As part of efforts to restore discipline and reposition the ADC for the 2027 general elections, the coalition announced the appointment of Senator Nenadi Usman as Chairman and Hon. Muhammad Bashir Saidu as Co-Chairman of the coalition in Kaduna State.
According to the statement, the duo will serve as the rallying point for opposition unity, tasked with leading the reorganization and strengthening of the ADC to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next election cycle.
