Jos, Plateau State– The Plateau State Government, under the leadership of Governor Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has announced a strategic partnership with the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) to enhance border security and manage the influx of potentially threatening individuals. Governor Mutfwang commended the NIS for their effective frameworks during a meeting with State Commandant Grace Nkangwung at the Government House Rayfield, Jos.
Governor Mutfwang highlighted the critical role of the Immigration Service in regulating migration and emphasized the need for collaboration to eliminate criminal elements within the state.
He praised the NIS's contributions to state security and expressed confidence in Commandant Nkangwung's ability to enhance security efforts further.
In a related development, Governor Mutfwang has reiterated his commitment to developing the state's mining industry value chain.
During a meeting with the Australian conglomerate Bisy Group and the Plateau Minerals Development Company, he underscored the importance of leveraging private sector partnerships to revitalize the mineral sector.
Welcoming Bisy Group's CEO, Raven Bi, Governor Mutfwang acknowledged the state's rich mineral deposits and the need for technological adoption in mining practices.
He criticized surface mining activities for their minimal revenue generation and expressed a strong political will to enhance the value of mineral deposits for the state's benefit.
Raven Bi indicated Bisy Group's interest in exploring Lithium mining in Plateau State using advanced technology, promising a strategic mining consultancy partnership.
The collaboration with both the Immigration Service and the private sector is part of Governor Mutfwang's broader policy agenda to boost security and economic development in Plateau State.
